Two Artists, One Unexpected Beginning

Marina Lippincott and Anastasia Gofman met at a professional social event, the kind of evening where people exchange introductions, talk about work, and expect to go home having simply made a few new connections.

That is not what happened.

From the moment Marina and Nastya met, there was an immediate sense of recognition. Conversation came easily. Ideas moved quickly. They discovered a shared fascination with art, beauty, creativity, and the way a single piece can communicate something that words often cannot.

It felt, in its own way, like love at first sight.

Not simply a love between two people who had just discovered how naturally they understood one another, but a shared love for creating, for artists, and for the possibility of building something meaningful around art.

The Night an Idea Became M & N Art

Somewhere in that first conversation, the idea appeared.

What if they created a place together?

A place where original art could be discovered without the distance and formality that sometimes surrounds traditional galleries. A place where established artists and emerging voices could exist beside one another. A place where people could learn to paint, experiment, make mistakes, discover their own style, and then walk a few steps and see finished artwork hanging on the walls.

Marina and Nastya realized they did not want to separate the experience of making art from the experience of living with it.

The idea felt obvious almost as soon as they said it aloud.

Where Two Different Paths Meet

Their paths to that moment could hardly have been more different.

Marina’s life moved between art, mathematics, technology, and software development before she found her way back to painting. Nastya built her own path through entrepreneurship, mixed-media art, texture, reflection, and a fascination with the connections between people and the world around them.

Their differences became part of the chemistry.

Marina brought structure, curiosity, and a love of figurative and narrative painting. Nastya brought dimensionality, experimentation, and an instinct for transforming unconventional materials into something unexpected.

Together, they found the same thing from opposite directions: a belief that art should feel alive.

A Gallery That Is Meant to Be Lived In

M & N Art grew from that first meeting into a gallery, studio, and creative community built around a simple idea: art should not feel distant.

It should be something you can stand in front of, talk about, learn from, create yourself, fall in love with, and eventually take home.

The gallery brings together original paintings, mixed-media works, contemporary figurative art, abstract pieces, maritime art, comic-inspired work, and artists with very different voices. The studio gives people the opportunity to cross the invisible line between looking at art and making it.

That connection is at the heart of M & N Art.

Art Brought Them Together

Marina and Nastya did not spend years planning to open an art company together.

They simply met.

Two artists found themselves in the same room, discovered how much they shared, and recognized that something worth building had appeared between them.

They met because of work.
They connected because of art.
And M & N Art grew from everything that happened in between.

Today, M & N Art is the place where their two creative worlds meet, and an invitation for other artists, students, collectors, and curious people to become part of the story.
